"Chef Iliano has revamped the interior, knocked down the front wall, and created an airy, light filled space. Baklava serves traditional Turkish cuisine in a relaxed, comfortable, setting. The walls are painted a light peach color reminiscent of adobe bricks used in construction of desert abodes. There are murals on the walls, one of Turkish women baking traditional bread and one of a favorite vacation spot in Turkey. The kitchen is open and at the back of the restaurant. You can eat at the bar, at a table or outside on the sidewalk. It has the feel of a restaurant one could easily find in Italy or Spain."

"Have walked by this restaurant several times and loved its beautiful, open, and airy design, and last night we finally got the chance to try it. Service, first of all? Top notch. I wish we'd asked our waiter his name so we could give him a shout-out, but he was fantastic. He pointed us to less typical dishes that were similar to things we were familiar with, and all his recommendations (including wine) were excellent. Anything having to do with a tomato was really, really good, including the dipping sauce for the pita. The hummus had great texture and tasted very fresh, and we also had kofte as an appetizer, which was well-spiced and delicious. Dining companion had the lamb shank with beans, which was ridiculously tender and drenched in a sauce so good he almost licked the plate. The waiter brought us tea in little Turkish tea cups. All in all, a great addition to the Mediterranean offerings in Palo Alto."
